Few Solutions of the Age of Confusions – Part 1

Age of confusions by Shailee Sheth

It’s almost a week after 31st December 2017. I purposely didn’t post anything on the New Year as I was assuming that no one is going to read my lengthy post, especially those people for which I am writing today’s article. Today, I have something important to tell to my dearest teenage buddies who are living in the age of confusions and all those parents who have ‘young but not so young’ children in their home.

I have a list of simple yet logical fundamentals you should follow in 2018. I know I know, many of you don’t believe in resolutions, or just unable to complete it. (I am same as you!) But trust me, these are not resolutions.

At all stages of life, people will offer you a loooooong list of things you ‘must’ do, be, or have! Most of the time you nod your head, walk away or just ignore them. I used to do the same. But here I am not going to bore you with those elderly types advice. The things which I want to share with you are entirely different. There are no lectures or suggestions, but a learning MY teenage taught me! So keep calm, and read further.

Few Solutions of the Age of Confusions

Pull up your sleeves and Gear up!

Potential is good when you’re 15 years old. After that, you need to start doing SOMETHING. We live in a competitive era, and you know that! This is the age of confusions, and I know that! Moreover, the ‘icing on the cake’ is those stupid hormonal changes. Right?

But, still, we have to do what is expected to do! Eg. – Study? We can’t avoid studying even if we hate doing that. This is just one example, there are several more! We should just start the process. I have learned that we should keep trying different things, even if we fail. Each project will teach us something good and makes us an experienced person than before. So, just start!

Passion Possession & Profession

Our elders believe that passion can only be spontaneous. There are two straight ends of each activity – whether to do it OR not to do it! But my experience is different from this theory. Passion can be created even for the things which are not giving us pleasure right now! All it takes is a bit patience and ‘let things happen to me’ attitude.

The easiest way to create interest is to get curious. Forget everything about the tedious project and start from the ‘zero.’ Try to find something new in the same project each time you think about it to increase or intact your interest. Whenever I try a new thing, I just allow myself to keep going. I keep my mind open and write everything – pros and cons, do’s and don’ts and even the craziest thoughts. I just take one step at a time before building skills. This keeps me away from getting frustrated and ensures the process is fun.

From the crawling to scrolling – We all grew up!

At least we should stop using phones in toilets. We have no idea but our mind needs a break from scrolling down the social media posts all the time to do its real task – which is TO THINK! When we are focused, we can notice new qualities of people or things each time. We should be attentive this new year.

From now onwards, we will not allow our phones to drop on our face and slap us while laying on the bed. We will cut down virtual addictions, distractions and end the noise. When asked to buy groceries, we will go and finish that work immediately. (Oh, at least we can give hopes!)

Winding up…

You know guys, a year after you complete your entire studies, no one is going to ask what your percentage was! But you must understand what you want. It is essential. It is okay to be vulnerable. It is okay to have fears or being depressed for a while. But, don’t make it a routine. Once you get what you are meant for, it’s not usually that difficult to make it. Ask, ask and ask. Sometimes passion can be drained just by not knowing the basics. So try to avoid or overcome shyness in 2018.

So, that’s it. Let’s start with the above three right now. I will share few more in the next post. Till then, stay tuned with GupShup… 😉

  1. Hii! Shaileeee…
    Nice Article!!
    This is absolutely amazing!!
I would love to do the same AAA formula and apply in running year too..

    Thank you for sharing !!

  2. Too good ??
What is mentioned above are basics that all of us millennials should follow to make our life better and simple.
I like the part where you describe the ‘no mobiles’ zone. That is a must, otherwise we would not be able to generate to any new thoughts

  3. Hey eeee,

I amaze the way you describe the common things so articulately.

Few months back I had realized that facebook is taking more time and hence deleted the same app for week time. Even once I had stopped using whatsapp for 1 week.
We don’t know when we are turned netict.

I have passed through the phase of uncertainty and done lot of things which were of no use then and even now.

    Keep sharing, we are waiting.
